New Distinguished Teaching Award for Teams
The UW Center for Teaching and Learning is pleased to announce the creation of the UW Distinguished Teaching Award for Teams. Included as part of the UW awards of excellence, this new award recognizes instructional collaborations that have made significant contributions to student learning.
Created with colleagues at UW Bothell and UW Tacoma, the award acknowledges the important role that collaboration plays in fostering teaching excellence and classroom innovation. Penelope Moon, director of UW’s Center for Teaching and Learning, explains the reasoning behind the new award: “Just as learning stems from interaction, the best teaching emerges from people – instructors, staff, graduate students – working together to create dynamic, responsive learning environments.”
Teams eligible for the award may include up to 5 instructors, staff educators (including instructional consultants, instructional designers, learning technologists, and librarians), teaching assistants, and students across any of UW’s three campuses.
Nominations for all UW Teaching Awards are due Nov. 11, 2022.
