Welcome New Faculty

The UW Center for Teaching & Learning is excited to announce Teaching@UW: Strategies, Resources, and Connections for New UW Faculty. This program welcomes incoming faculty to the UW teaching community and connects them to resources that support evidence-based teaching.

Register

Open to incoming faculty on any UW campus, Teaching@UW: Strategies, Resources, and Connections for New UW Faculty includes synchronous and asynchronous activities and conversations focused on: 

  • Inclusive teaching
  • Active learning
  • Accessibility
  • Backward course design
  • Teaching the first day of class
  • Preparing for challenging moments
  • Fostering students’ mental health and well-being

Registration Information

Faculty at any rank, including part-time and affiliate faculty, are invited to register. Registration for the program will open on April 3, 2023

Registration will include access to a Canvas site and information about the synchronous sessions, which will be held:

  • Thursday, Sept 7, 9:30AM -12:00PM (Zoom)
  • Friday, Sept 8, 11:30AM – 3:00PM (in person at the Seattle campus)

Faculty who are unable to attend the synchronous sessions are still welcome to participate in the Canvas site at any time. After registration closes on Sept. 6, new faculty can access the Canvas site by emailing teaching@uw.edu with the subject line “Enroll in the Teaching@UW Faculty Canvas site.”

Teaching@UW: Strategies, Resources, and Connections for New UW Faculty has replaced the Faculty Fellows Program.
