Distinguished Teaching Award for Teams

This Distinguished Teaching Award for Teams, part of the UW awards of excellence, recognizes instructional collaborations that have made significant contributions to student learning at the University of Washington.

Created by the UW Center for Teaching and Learning in collaboration with colleagues at UW Bothell and UW Tacoma, this award acknowledges the important role that collaboration plays in fostering teaching excellence and classroom innovation. Penelope Moon, director of UW’s Center for Teaching and Learning, explains the reasoning behind this award: “Just as learning stems from interaction, the best teaching emerges from people – instructors, staff, graduate students – working together to create dynamic, responsive learning environments.”

Teams eligible for the award may include up to 5 instructors, staff educators (including instructional consultants, instructional designers, learning technologists, and librarians), teaching assistants, and students across any of UW’s three campuses.

Nominations for all UW Teaching Awards are open. Nominate an outstanding graduate student, instructional team, or Seattle campus faculty member today!
