Pursuing civic health through teaching

Friday, April 16, 10:00 – 11:30 a.m.

In addition to developing students’ disciplinary knowledge and skills, universities help students become active and engaged citizens. At a time when research indicates a decline in civic engagement, it makes sense to ask: What are the big and small things we can do in the classroom to promote civic health?

In this session, facilitators on each UW campus will lead faculty members in brainstorming teaching strategies that might promote and prepare students for civic engagement.
